  • Overview

    The Insurance AR Representative is responsible for rectifying insurance billing issues and problems, following up on reimbursement payments, and investigate, initiate or resolve claim reviews and appeals with insurance companies. The AR Representative is responsible for communicating issues and trends to the lead and AR Manager when they arise.

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for managing the assigned receivable by Unit and timely follow up for all insurances..
    Knowledge of payer specific medical and reimbursement policies  
    Responsibly for identifying issues and reporting trends
    Work closely with Managed Care, Coding department, and departments as required.
    Works closely with designated unit representative in all aspects of claims resolutions
    Responsible for running and managing aging reports.
    Responsible for appealing denied claims to insurance companies.
    Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills, high attention to detail and an aptitude for learning.
    Promotes teamwork and customer service by demonstrating positive interpersonal relations.
    Perform other duties and functions as directed and/or requested.
    Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    High School diploma or equivalent
    Two plus years of patient/insurance A/R collection experience
    Excellent Customer Service skills
    Practice Management system experience
    Proficient written and oral communication
     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    E-Clinical Works experience
    Bi-Lingual
    Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes
    Knowledge of Medical terminology
    Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
    Use of computer, printers, faxes, scanners, internet services, and other general office equipment
