  • Overview

    The Director of Nursing will assist in the development and oversite of clinical operations projects for WCF and PBS.  This individual will identify, develop, and oversee multiple operational projects including (but not limited to) centralization efforts for scheduling, clinical triage and facility development. This individual will assist in the operational setup of new facility units and, assist unit leadership and staff on operational procedures and education, filling in as interim leadership when necessary.  The individual will also ensure compliance with clinical activities in WCF.

    Responsibilities

    1. Assist in development and management of centralized operations and develop new processes, systems, and workflows as assigned.
    2. Work with executive and physician leadership to develop operational and clinical processes and procedures as appropriate.
    3. Provide leadership oversight for assigned centralized departments as assigned (triage and scheduling).
    4. Ensures competencies of all clinical nursing staff in WCF offices through programmatic, education and reviews programs.
    5. Lead in the operational setup for new facilities and units, providing interim leadership for new units as necessary.
    6. Monitors defined and appropriate utilization of needed human and material capital and supports collaboration with multiple disciplines for desired patient outcomes.
    7. Provides direction to and monitors performance of Clinical Coordinators in each unit.
    8. Develops effective work teams and effectively implements and manages new policies and procedures while, mentoring and developing staff and empowering practice teams.
    9. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with providers.
    10. Participates in the development of the operating and capital budgets as requested by the Chief Operating Officer.
    11. Oversee nursing practices of the clinical triage team and ensures that clinical protocols are consistently followed by clinical triage center team as approved by physician leadership.
    12. Supervise and mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, participate in the hiring and termination process, determine staffing needs, and facilitate individual and team development.
    13. Support WCF’s quality and patient safety initiatives and provide input and facilitate teams to ensure the consistent use of best practices
    14. Identify potential patient safety issues and work with Chief Operating Officer, Chief Medical Officer and physician leadership team to enhance clinical care, patient safety an unit operations.
    15. Works collaboratively with Purchasing to ensure proper clinical equipment and supplies or put in service.
    16. In conjunction with Medical Affairs assists with auditing records to ensure compliance with clinical and operational guidelines.
    17. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    1. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
    2. Minimum 5 years experience working as an RN or LPN and 1 year working in operations and/or leadership
    3. Minimum of 1 year OB/GYN experience strongly preferred.
    4. Valid Florida RN or LPN license and BLS/CPR certification, ACLS preferred.
    5. Must possess strong customer service skills.
    6. Ability to use a computer and enter data in a medical management application.
    7. Ability to maintain RN or LPN license by successfully completing 24 hours of continuing education hours every two years.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    1. eCW electronic medical records system experience a plus
